  eFPGA, a kind of Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), is an embedded FPGA. It is an integrated circuit that can be configured by the user after fabrication and is usually integrated into a larger system-on-a-chip (SoC) for providing hardware programmability.

   The history of eFPGA can be traced back to the history of FPGA: FPGA technology originated in the 1980s. In 1984, Xilinx introduced the world's first FPGA product.
